I looked really really hard at the mongoose 29, blue iguana and 2.6" DX3.   In the end, I held back and didn't buy any kits... What's on the bench is already going to keep me busy all winter building, and I've got more than enough to fly next summer.  I WILL get a 2.6/54mm someday....

I did pick up a nosecone av bay from MAC for my Villain, and a sheet of 3/32 material to make fins for my painkiller 3.  it's been sitting built without fins for a year and a half, so it's like getting a 3" rocket for ten bucks! :)  My next order will be for some blue tube bits to modify my fleet of Optimas :)

I bought some stuff from ASP, they had 21% off everything including already discounted items.  I got a replacement for my treed Estes DRT, which wound up being about $18, as well as a few of their scale kits and a nose cone & centering rings to make use of the AT 1.9" tubing left over from my Cobra build.  Not that I don't have enough to build already...

This is the first Black Friday I haven't bought anything in years. Last month I relocated my rocket stuff and realized just how many I have that need building or repair. Once I get a handle on those I plan on some scratch builds. I have had some great fun with the ones I did. Once you get started on one or two everything you look at you some how try and find a use for it in your builds.

FWIW, Jon Rocket is currently listing the DRT for $19, which is still a much better price than most (if you can still find one):

I double checked the math, the deal that ASP was offering wound up making the DRT $16.75, which is the best price I'd seen anywhere for one - even when they were still in production.  I think my old one was an $18 eBay purchase late last year.

Resurrecting an old thread for this year's Black Friday sales.  Any good scores?

I took advantage of MAC Performance's sale and bought a 54mm Zodiac, accompanying fin jig, plus nose cone bay kits for that and for my Scorpion.  I also bought some 38mm hardware (CTI) from Wildman.

I took it easy this year and only got one thing, a kit from MAC. I went with the 54mm Scorpion DD and the nose bay kit. Mike added a couple inches to the body tube so it will take a 6xl motor  ;D I have a healthy stock of motors that will easily last me till next black Friday.

You know, its kind of funny.  I got Mike to reconfigure my Zodiac into a 54mm Radial Flyer.  I also had him modify the 3" Scorpion kit I built earlier in the year with a longer MM tube and a standard rear centering ring, so I could build with a tailcone retainer.  So, I wonder how many kits he actually sells that are just stock, without changes?  It seems like he changes a lot of stuff for a lot of people on a regular basis...

My Zodiac is stretched, as was my 3" Villain.

Woo Hoo! Santa came early! Like everyone else says, the fit and finish of these parts is fantastic! Also the completeness of the kit, including the e bay being assembled! I'll do a build thread once I get started on this..
